Hiraki Sawa

Born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1977.
2003 Completed Masters Degree in Sculpture at the University of London, Slade. Lives in London.
Insubstantial areas such as my own imaginary landscape and my senses in my memory,
Expressed with a video installation composed of video, 3D, and two-dimensional works.
While skillfully manipulating images and three-dimensional objects, drawing a scene that is impossible in reality,
Create a world that feels something familiar in the exhibition space and work on the viewer's imagination.
In recent years, such as spatial composition that captured the arrangement of the video in sculpture, and juxtaposition of three-dimensional and planar works,
I am working on a work where the image and the exhibition space intersect each other.

Born in Ishikawa. Completed MFA in sculpture at Slade School of Fine Art in London in 2003. Currently lives in London and Kanazawa. Sawa expresses intangible domains such as imaginary landscape or certain senses exist in memories by video installations consist of moving image, three-dimensional and two-dimensional artworks. By manipulating moving images and three-dimensional structures, Sawa realises implausible and yet familiar scene in a given exhibition space which appeal to audience’s imagination. His recent artworks attempt to intersect moving images and exhibition space each other by constructing space through sculptural arrangements of moving images or laying three-dimensional and two dimensional artworks side by side.
