Innumerable black paper butterflies and moths dance through the house. Since the death of his grandmother, the artist has created installations titled “Black Cloud.” In Suzu, he chose an empty house in a small village surrounded by mountains. This work is his first exhibition outside of a gallery space. A butterfly in a large open house that no one lives in questions what it means to be absent.
